Any Excuse to Have a Party!

Spring is here and it is a great excuse to have a party. Spring entertaining is fun. You have great weather, everyone is excited for the summer to arrive, and it is a great way to start off the season. Here are our top spring party tips.
- Flowers are a must! Use tea pots, and tea cups to set up little arrangements around the house or apartment before the party.
- Get a little bit country. Use mason jars for drinks. It is fun and a great way to be a little different. You can even continue that country theme.
- If you have the luxury of a great yard play a game of croquet. Games allow your guests to interact and have a great time outside.
- If you want your guests to remember this party! Give a great party favor. An inexpensive and fun way to do this is to go to vintage stores and find assorted tea cups. Once at home fill them with spring time essentials for your guests to take home. This can include packets of gourmet tea, jelly beans, cookies, whatever your heart desires.
- Serve up a great cocktail. A great and easy recipe is red wine, fruit juices such as pineapple, orange, and pomegranate (to your taste & you can even use low calorie options). Then add orange and lemon slices. Serve cold! Easy and delicious.
Spring is always a great excuse to have a fashionable party!

Nolcha Fashion Week Leaves an Echo of Design
New York Fashion Week created a buzz that left nothing short of an echo of the designs that continued long after it ended. Nolcha Fashion Week on February 9,2012 was just one of the many shows that played out to packed houses. The designers that stood out from the 3:30 P.M. show was Rebeca Tiago and Baruni. Both very different in design. Rebeca Tiago, Puerto Rican designer was refreshing to see. Her designs were light, playful, feminine and full of lace with a rocker edge. Baruni was sophisticated, with dark hues played up with bright pops of color. A look around the house showed some celebrities in the audience such as Adrienne Bailon, Actress and Singer. It was a memorable show that did not fall short of some promising designs by emerging designers.

COVERGIRL Taylor Swift wins BIG at the 2012 GRAMMYs
COVERGIRL Taylor Swift at the GRAMMYs by makeup artist, Lorrie Turk
- DRESS: Taylor selected a sublime Zuhair Murad gown to wear to the Grammys, and that was the inspiration for the look. The gown had gorgeous hand beading and detailing, and because of that Taylor decided to keep it clean and simple with her makeup and hair.
- FACE: Taylor’s complexion is absolutely gorgeous and I really wanted it to show through—there is no reason to mask it with a heavy foundation. COVERGIRL NatureLuxe Silk Foundation was applied very sparingly with a damp sponge, followed with a touch of COVERGIRL TruBlend Minerals Blush in Shimmering Sands giving a natural flush and glow to her skin.
- EYES: Taylor’s eye makeup started with a sweep of COVERGIRL Intense ShadowBlast in Brown Bling from lash line to just above the crease and then I took it out a bit using my finger. Taylor loves this color, as it is the perfect natural shadow color–not too grey or orange. It’s really perfect. We followed with COVERGIRL Eye Enhancers in Tapestry Taupe in the crease and Golden Sunset on the lid. I ran COVERGIRL Liquiline Blast Eyeliner in Brown Blaze along the top and bottom lash line and smudged it a bit with a cotton bud. For the lashes, I used COVERGIRL LashBlast 24 Hour Mascara. It really makes her blue eyes stand out.
- LIPS: Taylor wanted her lips to be very natural, so I applied COVERGIRL LipPerfection Lipcolor in Enthrall to her lips with my fingertip to push the color in — leaving a nice stain on her lips.
